1999

2002

Celebrate moves from hotel to hotel for a few years—baptism services, prayer meetings, and hundreds of weekly services.

2003

After a quick few years of growth, the church has an opportunity to purchase its first building.

The Elks Lodge on West 51st Street is purchased in February 2003 and is transformed into a church! It is later sold to another church, Calvary Chapel, which is still there today.

2004

After outgrowing the Elks Lodge in just over a year, Celebrate purchases the former Sioux Falls Christian High School—the location now known as Celebrate's main location. Sioux Falls Christian initially asks for $3M, but the appraisal comes back at $2M, which becomes the purchase price.  Celebrate borrows the full $2M from Wesleyan Investment Foundation; they also give the church $50,000 to pay for A/C for the gymnasium/sanctuary.

The school is purchased, and work begins to renovate by the hands of many volunteers. All of this is made possible by the faithful financial sacrifice of many families. As the church keeps saving, renovations happen over several years.

Celebrate's first service is held at its new facility on the church’s fifth anniversary: October 3, 2004, with 926 people in attendance.

To Celebrate Church,

As Kay and I reflect on the past 25 years, words cannot express our gratitude for the incredible journey we've shared. When we planted this church, we never could have dreamed what we have shared. Through every challenge and triumph, your unwavering commitment and love have been the heartbeat of our church.

From the very beginning, countless memories have been created. You have selflessly been the hands and feet of Jesus, extending grace, compassion, and fellowship to all who walk through our doors. Your commitment to our shared mission has been a testament to God's faithfulness and is a beacon of hope throughout Sioux Falls and surrounding communities.

Thank you for the countless hours of service, the prayers, and the generosity that have sustained our church. Each of you has played a vital role in shaping the legacy of our church, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Now, as we look to the future, we are filled with excitement, anticipating continued growth and impact. May we remain steadfast, standing firm in faith, embracing what God has laid before us, confident “that He who began” has more to come.

With heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation,

Keith Loy, Founding Pastor and Kay Loy
