CERTIFICATE IN BIBLICAL STUDIES

EACH CLASS HAS TWO LEARNING OPTIONS:

For $299 per class, you can earn three credits that can be used toward a degree (18 credits total).
For $80 per class, you can experience the same learning, but not have any homework (non-credit).
THE LETTERS OF PAUL
January 11 - March 7, 2023 (eight weeks) 
*Please note the first in-person class session is Tuesday, January 17, 2023*
Throughout the New Testament, Paul plays a significant role in authorship, theme, and influence during the first century. During these eight weeks, you will gain a deep understanding of the context in which Paul expressed theological truth to the early church and the background of his missionary journeys.

EXAMINING CRUCIAL QUESTIONS
March 21 - April 18, 2023 (five weeks)
How do you develop your theological beliefs? Through the use of Scripture, history, experience, and reason, you will explore how to form your convictions and how they apply to real-life situations.

COMMUNITY, SELF, AND FORMATION
April 25 - May 23, 2023 (five weeks)
The purpose of this course is to provide you with the opportunity to carefully reflect on how you have developed your unique set of beliefs, values, and commitments and to challenge you to think about your potential impact on the world around you.



OLD TESTAMENT
Coming in the Fall of 2023
Dive into the Old Testament in a way that will make the words come alive like never before! We will build a foundational understanding of Biblical truths that God designed for His people and explore how they can still be applied in our world 2,000 years later.

NEW TESTAMENT
Coming in the Fall of 2023
The New Testament is full of teachings and testimonies that will show us the goodness of a God that just keeps running after us. During these eight weeks, we will embark on a journey through the life of Jesus and those who walked with Him.

ADDITIONAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

FOUNDATIONS FOR MINISTRY
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30-2pm; January 11 - March 7, 2023 
This course is an overview of key elements that are foundational for long-term effectiveness in ministry within a variety of contexts with special attention to the ministry of the local church.
This course discusses vocation, identity, spiritual formation, and ethical practice in relationship to ministry.

LEADING TEAM-DRIVEN ORGANIZATIONS
Coming in the Fall of 2023
This course is a study of team-leadership in the local church and other ministry contexts. The course examines leadership theories from a variety of perspectives that can be applied to teams composed of paid staff and/or volunteers.

PREACHING 1 (HOMILETICS)
Coming in the Fall of 2023
This course prepares students to construct and present sermons using quality exegesis and effective presentation methods. The overall approach uses expository methods for narrative passages and topics.
